Suncoast Automotive Performance Challenges the competition in a Hood Quality Comparison.

Many companies claim to provide a high quality product but Suncoast wants to prove it. 

We measured wall thickness variation along a SUNCOAST Automotive Performance Hand Lay-up part, a SUNCOAST Resin Transfer Molded (RTM) part, and one of our leading competitor’s fiberglass hoods.  Even though our competitor sold their product as a good hood and claims to provide a high quality product, the results will astound you.

The SUNCOAST parts showed great uniformity while the competitor's hood was thinner and very uneven. 

(For the statistically inclined -
standard deviations of
0.0168" for the competitor vs.
0.0014" for Suncoast Hand Lay-up and
0.0019" for the Suncoast RTM)

Why is this important? 

Thickness equals strength.

The thicker the walls of your hood, the stronger and stiffer it is.

Uniformity equals stability. 

As your hood heats and cools everyday, it expands and contracts.  Non-uniform thickness will cause ripples to appear in the hot sun.  Over time it can crack your paint and fatigue the underlying material reducing the look you've worked so hard to achieve and, ultimately, the life of your hood.

We get emails almost daily from consumers telling us about companies that sold them an inferior product.  The forums are full of sob stories, and while Suncoast's history is not completely free of problems, we strive to make each product the highest quality available and at a price that is still palatable to those who understand that quite often you really do get what you paid for. 

Suncoast Automotive Performance, Inc. offers a 3 year warranty on all our hoods.  Suncoast Creations, Suncoast Automotive Performance's predecessor, worked to provide high quality and was quite successful but it appears they went through some times of inconsistent output.  Those days are gone along with Suncoast Creations. Suncoast Automotive Performance will still honor a 3 year warranty on any Suncoast Creations Hood.  We also offer our fit guarantee.  If your hood cannot be made to fit without an unreasonable amount of effort, we'll ship you another one.

 04/11 -  Attached is a photo of my 2005 GMC 2500HD the hood is wrapped in line x.  I can really notice that the turbo spools faster and the truck runs cooler with the hood installed.  I love the tough look the hood gives my truck it was worth the money.  Thx, John J

 03/08 - i am a member of titan talk and have been looking at your hood for awhile. i all ready have a keystone hood on my 2008 titan and love the way it looks but it fits like butt and it is all ready breaking @ the hinges. i saw you were talking about other styles you may produce and was wondering what you will be coming up with.  Wayne L.
